Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search box is transmitted to the independent provider that operates that search. The provider processes the query and returns any result. Williams County Court Docket does not keep a separate log or database of the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you send an email, we retain the message and the information it contains so that we can respond. It is handled within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems may receive standard technical information when a page is requested, including:
- Your device's IP address
- Your browser type and version
- Device and operating-system information
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is available
- The date and time of each page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed by a browser. We and analytics providers may use them to understand aggregate site use, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. Browser settings can block or limit cookies, although some site features may then function differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, securing, and improving site performance
- Directing a submitted query to the relevant search provider
- Assessing aggregate use and page usefulness
- Finding and addressing technical problems
- Delivering advertising that may be interest-based
No Court-Record Data on File
Williams County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides routing information for records maintained by the Clerk of Courts Legal Division, the Court of Common Pleas divisions, and Bryan Municipal Court. Ohio has no unified statewide trial-court docket search. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and we do not assemble visitor information into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside providers operate the search boxes available on the site. Information entered into a box is subject to that provider's privacy terms, retention practices, and sharing rules, not this policy. We do not control those practices. Review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to clerk pages, Court of Common Pleas information, Bryan Municipal Court resources, and independent search tools. Following any link leaves this site, and the destination's privacy policy governs that visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to deliver targeted advertising. That tracking is performed on the provider's own systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed to:
- Search providers that process a query submitted through the site
- Analytics services used to measure traffic and site performance
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
- Government agencies or law enforcement when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information we collect. No online system can be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we learn that a minor has provided such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Court-record access in Ohio is governed by the Ohio Public Records Act, Ohio Revised Code 149.43 and the Ohio Rules of Superintendence 44-47. Those authorities address records maintained by courts and public offices. They do not increase this private site's authority over visitor information. At a minimum, you may:
- Request a copy of personal information we maintain about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt out of certain processing where that option is available
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
